Are electric blankets safe for teenagers? 10 points!?
So, my mum bought me one because I get cold at night and I didn't even have to pay for it. But... I've read tons of stuff about harmful electric currents, cancer risks and fire risks. It makes me paranoid. I'm a very responsible, mature for my age teenager I'm 13 so I'd remember to turn it on off and not leave it on. I wouldn't leave it on overnight I'd pull the plug out . But I'm still nervous. Are they okay for teens? Do you have one?

Is an electric blanket dangerous?
I only need to set my on " 1" because my multiple lovers keep me pretty warm. I'm just worried that it might catch fire and I don't want to have to carry each one of my multiple lovers outside to safety in my boxer shorts for all the world to see.
What is the best electric blanket you have used? I have been through 3 in 2 years because...?
...they malfunction after ashort time. So if you have an electric blanket that you have found to be a good one, please let me know. Years ago I had an electric blanket that I used for years without a problem. Suggestions based on personal experience please. I am not interested in how one is reviewed on Amazon. Is it collectively more economical to turn thermostat off at night, than to set it +. Assume electric blanket?
Assume under electric blanket. Set home electric heat thermostat at 0 degrees? Or set house electric heat thermostat at, say, 58 degrees? 68 degrees? As a Physicist, is it universally or collectively beneficial for the house, the environment, to go to and start again from " zero" ? Or for the home to maintain an optimal, scientifically pre determined baseboard positive electric heat thermostat temperature setting? Considering any applicable thermal coefficients, if any. What is the universally optimal house temperature electric baseboard setting?

Are there any dual voltage electric blankets on the market?

Can electric blankets cause your body to not know how to retain heat?
Can electric blankets cause your body to not know how to retain heat? My friend was talking about how she is always cold, so she came up with the assumption that it was caused by her using an electric blanket and her body getting so use to it that it doesn't know how to retain heat anymore. Is that even possible?
No central heating, best energy saving heat tips for large house? Electric blankets, etc.?
Hi everyone I'm living in a very large, 3 story house with 7 other of my college buddies and I mean " college" synonymously with " thrifty" . Even with the bills split, our energy costs are still coming out to be pretty pricey. We refuse to turn on the central heating the idea of how much energy it would take to fill up this house strikes fear into my currently frozen heart and are trying to discourage each other from using personal heaters in the rooms, but it's getting to be pretty desperate icy here I had suggested that everyone invest in an electric blanket instead of a personal heater as I've heard they're less energy consuming, but does anyone else have any tips for keeping warm in a frugal way? We need to have our chimney cleaned in order to use it, but I've heard that if it's not a very good one it may end up making your house colder because it sucks up all the oxygen.. and uh.. I don't know, I'm a Psychology major, but I've also been reading up on articles that suggest insulating... big umm metal things cylinder things... something about keeping in heat radiation... or something... Um, clearly I don't know what I'm talking about here... we're just looking for some simple ways to keep the house warm p.s. especially me I live in the basement aka dungeon encased in cement and cut down on our bills. Any suggestions tips words of encouragement welcomed Bonus point to a good answer for my brilliant new joke How many college girls does it take to stay warm in a 3 story ice cave? Also, several of us have sliding glass doors in our bedrooms. Is there anything that can be done to help with heat retention regarding them?
